Welcome – I’m Oklahannah!
Thank you for visiting my website! I’m thrilled to share a bit about myself and my passion for music with you. I hope our paths cross and that we become friends!
If we haven’t met in person yet, here’s a glimpse into my musical journey: I hold a degree in Music Composition with an emphasis in Harp from Oklahoma City University, where I had the privilege of studying under Dr. Edward Knight. I currently reside in Oklahoma City with my fiancé Thomas.
My musical adventure began at the tender age of 6 with piano lessons, but my true calling was the harp. I was so captivated by its sound that I soon persuaded my mother to let me explore harp lessons. I took an introductory semester, and the rest, as they say, is history.
I embarked on my professional career in June 2021, and it’s been a rewarding journey full of ups and downs. I am deeply grateful to the mentors and musicians who have guided me, including Darrel and Leona McGee, Kevin Couch, Dr. Edward Knight, Dr. Mary Chung, Dr. Lee Hinson, Dr. Erik Heine, Dr. Karen Youmans, Dr. Karen Schiler, Dr. Claudia Carroll, and my mentor Ruth Giessen. Their support has been instrumental (get it?) in shaping my career.
As a performer, my mission is to connect with audiences through my unique harp and vocal stylings. I love exploring a wide range of genres—from Norah Jones to Neil Young, and Radiohead to Britney Spears. The versatility of the harp often surprises those hearing it for the first time!
I’m honored to serve as the President of the Oklahoma Harp Society, a local chapter of the American Harp Society. In addition to performing, I maintain a studio where I teach both piano and harp.
I’ve had the pleasure of performing at notable venues including the Myriad Botanical Gardens, OKC Contemporary Arts Museum, The Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club, Aspen Ranch, Bradford House, St. Louis Club, 21C Art Museum and Hotel, Factory Obscura, Art at Untitled, and I was invited to perform at the 2023 Paseo Arts Festival, PlazaFest, and the Festival of the Arts.
Looking ahead, I am dedicated to making the harp a beloved and accessible instrument for everyone. My goal is to bring the harp into more homes and hearts, transforming it from a dream instrument into a common and cherished one.
